At Grounded Therapy Co., we support children, adolescents, young adults, and their families to enhance mental health and wellbeing. We also provide support for parents to bolster their parenting skills. We accept referrals for brief and long-term clients (and anything in between!) depending on your needs/goals and our capacity at the time of referral.
We are a small business and only work with a small cohort of clients at any given time to ensure a high level of care is provided. This also ensures regular appointment times are available for the people accessing our services. Please contact us to assess availability and waitlist times, or to see if we are able to help your presenting concerns.
Our approach draws on a wide range of evidence-based psychological therapies, theories, and programs to help you or your family achieve meaningful and lasting outcomes.
Grounded Therapy Co. is a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming practice that warmly welcomes individuals and families from the LGBTQIA+ community.
Services can be accessed in our home-based clinic or via telehealth. Home, community and school visits may also be arranged under certain circumstances.
Please note we currently offer therapy services only.
Children
Teens and Adults
If your presenting concern is not listed above, please reach out to discuss whether we have the expertise to assist.
We are trained facilitators for numerous evidence-based group therapy programs, including the Resourceful Adolescent Program (RAP), Cool Kids, and Chilled. We also develop our own group-based treatment programs for a wide range of presentations. Some of our programs include:
Girls Who Glow
'Girls Who Glow' is a fun, confidence-boosting workshop for upper primary-aged girls that celebrates friendship, self-belief, and the power of kindness.
The Brave Spellcasters
'The Brave Spellcasters' invites children aged 8–12 on a magical quest to uncover their inner courage, learn the secret spells of calm and confidence, and befriend their anxiety monster along the way.
Name It to Tame It
Inspired by Dan Siegel’s work, 'Name It to Tame It' helps children recognise, name, and gently train their 'inner wild animal', building emotional awareness, emotional literacy, self-regulation, and confidence in managing big feelings.
Pause and Play
'Pause and Play' is a calming parent–child mindfulness experience in nature, where families slow down, explore their senses, and connect through playful moments of presence.
If you are interested in us running a group therapy program at your school, community group, or workplace; or if you are interested in participating in a group-based therapy program at our clinic/in the community, please contact us to express your interest and join our waiting list.
Abbey is a Board Approved Supervisor and offers clinical supervision that can be conducted in person or via telehealth. Please make contact to discuss further.
